A  little Background:

Organizing your financial and personal life in advance of the inevitable event of death or incapacitation is a loving act at any time.  The sooner you begin this process, you will likely experience a peaceful and rewarding feeling knowing you have left your loved ones a plan, an organized record of your assets, a set of instructions containing your wishes, and the gift of your personal legacy.

Welcome,

I am grateful you are here!

If you take this planning journey with me, I will ask you to share who you are, who matters most to you,  and what your hopes are for caring for those people. So, before we begin, it's important to share about myself and my journey to this point.   I was born in Texas but raised in Washington State. I earned a Bachelor's Degree at the University of Washington before I returned to my roots in Texas, where I completed my law degree in 1998 at the University of Houston College of Law.  After getting married, my husband and I moved again to settle in Los Angeles.  Not long after, I became licensed in California, and since then, I have also become licensed in Washington State.  Since 1999, my husband and I have lived and raised our two children in Los Angeles, California. We are now empty nesters as our son lives in Arizona, and our daughter is working through college here in California.

How did I end up in this area of practice?

I did not realize it then, but my personal experience with the impact of estate planning happened early on.  Not long after I began law school, my grandfather passed away, and my family had their first experience with probate. There was no planning in place, and his remarriage meant his assets were left entirely to his second spouse and her family. The personal, financial, and emotional toll of this experience was frustrating, difficult,  and confusing to all of us.  Many years later, I started working with families that were facing similar challenges in dealing with the loss of their loved ones.  It was at that time I decided to invest in understanding how to help my clients take steps to prepare and avoid some of the stress and conflict that stems from leaving an unprepared estate. I learned that educating people and sharing the importance of an estate plan was invaluable.

I believe estate planning is one of the greatest acts of love we can perform for the people we care about.  Learning the truth and value of your decisions can be stressful and emotional, but it can also lessen the burden left on your loved ones. Whether you work with me or another attorney, you owe it to yourself and the people you care about to learn how to protect what matters.  I look forward to meeting with you and answering your questions to decide if you are ready to start.

I know time is valuable, and I am honored you are exploring and considering how estate planning can benefit you, everyone you care about, and all you have achieved. If you are unsure whether planning is something you need to consider at this point in your life, you are not alone.  Any time is the right time to start collecting information to help make your planning decisions and decide when it will feel right to take action.
